crossover rally
Sort of a homebuilder/factory conversion rally I just returned from this evening. Met at least 5 Members from Prevost Community there. I really think there was a good time had by all with all kinds of coaches there. Good to renew old friendships and make new ones. Solved some Questions–got some great ideas—traded some tall tales—best of all great fellowship. I think PC gained a few more members also. Prob over 40 coaches there. life is good! Message here for the home builder guys is look how the conversion guys did it to get ideas.—- copy or improve on their ideas. Bob

I agree completely with Bob.
We were fortunate to meet Bob and Judy and I can say for sure we need to get to their rallies or they need to come to ours because we all share so much in common.
One thing that is abundantly clear is as Bob says how much information and ideas we can swap back and forth. The home builders are driving coaches as sophisticated as most of ours, and they all have some ideas we should consider stealing, just like our conversions can give those folks some ideas worth stealing.
A word of warning however….some of the coaches those folks put together are so good looking and well done it is intimidating to hang around with people so smart and capable.
This Neoplan has a full glass dash and control system.
This GM looks great, but look at the engine below.
That engine and the whole rest of the coach look great.
This Flex I think is a 51 and it has been restored to the quality of a show coach. But David the owner installed an 8.3 Cummins with an Allison 6 speed so it is as up to date as any DDEC coach we have.
This is Scott Crosby’s “fishbowl” GM local coach. It was used as a movie prop. He has been repairing, rebuilding, or replacing all the inportant stuff so it is reliable and roadworthy. He has an engine as clean as mine.
Maybe Bob wants to add to some of what I mention, but the rally had such a diverse group of people and coaches we could have spent a whole bunch more time there enjoying these folks and their coaches.

I forgot to mention Steve’s Neoplan now has a 14 liter Series 60 that he installed himself to replace what i think was a 2 stroke Detroit. These folks think nothing of gutting the interior and redoing it or replacing the drivetrain.
Steve’s Neoplan was built in the US around 1992. Next to him was Lou’s European Mercedes version the he totally rebuilt.
I should have taken photos of the interior that Lou did in that coach. Fantastic.

I think outside of it! So do many of the sob (some other bus) owners. My weakness is finish trim work—I’m learning and getting better with that.. Have a lot of redo’s… The level of trim in the factory coaches intrest me. How did they do that??… Many of the other guys are master wood butchers and their coaches look better than the production models. I don’t have the ability /feel of the wood like they do. Other things come natural to me. One eagle guy (Wayne) is building a 45ft Eagle with a 60series /10spd auto shift/super single tires/master wood worker–this will be true art..His present coach is! Can’t wait. We refer to ourself’s as Busnuts I would think that counts for Prevost community members also. Just like everyone here everyone comes from all differant trades/skills and we share knowledge and resources for parts and help for people in need of it.
