  • Crestron TV or Bose Problem

Posted by Larry & Diane on May 16, 2020 at 1:52 pm

Not sure where this post belongs ??

I have NO sound coming from the Bose system in the front of the bus.. Not from TV, Radio or CD ?

I tried to reset the TV for speakers from the TV but it won’t reset… I have verified that all the settings on the Bose are the same as the ones in the coach rear which works fine..& it let me (rear system) reset it to the TV speakers & that was fine.

The Bose unit responds to the Crestron remote.. just NO sound at all.

The TV is a Samsung …the TV remote works everything as it should except the sound … has a “reset sound” but that didn’t work either… It should reset to TV speakers and won’t.

Need some ideas here please?? No idea where to go from here.

    Thanks in advance..

    Cheers, Diane

Be sure the speaker select button is on the correct set of speakers. Most BOSE units have a and b speakers. If your BOSE unit has a CD or DVD player try a CD or DVD and see if you get sound them figure out why the TV doesn’t want to play.

Thanks Mikee… I checked all of that & no sound when turned to CD, DVD or radio either.

Think I will have to take the unit from the bedroom and hook it up in the front to check it out.. Such a PIA the cables are so short I can’t even pull it forward to get to the back.. may have to remove the closet wall to get to the back of it.No fun.

You mentioned you unsuccessfully attempted to change the front TV setting for sound to come out of its TV speakers. Perhaps an easier quick test (as opposed to the difficult task of removing the rear Bose system) might be to connect the front Bose system wires to another TV (perhaps the fault is the front TV sound board as opposed to within the Bose?).

Good Luck & Please let us know what you find!

I had my Bose go out – no sound at all in my 03. Under the sofa is the amplifier. The amplifier that houses the sub woofer went bad. Found one on eBay for 100. The Bose unit in the cabinet showed the system worked, but no sound. The heat build up under the sofa is high from the Bose amp and there is no fan circulation. After replacing the Bose Sub-woofer amp “black box” I learned to also turn the amp off when not using the coach to avoid the unnecessary heat build up. Hope this helps you get music.

Pat & Jan… thanks for the reply… we have never had any heat at all under the sofa … but I will check that out incase it’s bad.

We do have excessive heat in the cabinet where the receivers and Bose are housed..I usually leave the door ajar and I had some vents put in when we bought the coach.

Will check this out tomorrow I hope.

I noticed that you have moved from Texas. Not sure if you remember….but we talked a few times when you were buying your first Prevost.

Ok !! We did a lot of troubleshooting this morning & determined that the problem was indeed the the amp & subwoofer under the couch…Thank you so much Pat… that was a worthy clue !!.. we removed the rear one from under the bed and installed it in the front and it’s working perfectly…

I too found one on Ebay and should have it in a few days… so that’s all good.

Thanks everyone for all your input… safe travels !!

    Cheers, Diane
