Compressor- turbo or Not?
Just put new unloader valves and head gasket on my Bendix Tu-Flo 750 compressor and while I was getting parts the owner of Paso Truck center was talking about suppercharging or not , In otherwards the inlet air ties in to the intake manifold with a 3/4 inch heater hose so air is forced into compressor, but it is hot air being put into compressor, so he recomenned 2 options ,1st option is to ty compressor into behind air cleaner 2nd option is to remote mount an air cleaner. He said now days they do not supercharge compressors anymore. Has anyone done this?

All of my coaches have had the air compressor intake just downstream from the air filter, and ahead of the turbo.
I can understand why someone might see an advantage of putting slightly pressurized air into the compressor but that pressurization varies and when it is pressurized it is hot which is not really beneficial to a compressor that has to be cooled anyway.
No matter how much pressure the compressor intake air has, the bus pneumatic system is still going to be limited to about 120 PSI.
