    That will certainly cut down on sales of tire dressing.

    While it eliminates the need to check tire pressures, owners are still going to have to make certain the tire weight limits are enough for the loads carried, and somehow the tire design has to insure it sheds mud, stones, snow or ice that can get in the openings and cause a lot of vibration.

    Dues will increase because Tom will lose Pressure Pro sales and he will need to either get a bigger tin cup or more PC income.

    I’m not ready to put something that ugly on my coach despite what might be advantages.

    I wonder how they seal the bead and keep it from spinning on the rim. Maybe there is air in the inner portion.

    They have been talking about these tires for 30 yrs. I would think that we would see them on passenger cars first and then move up the ladder.

    Other than not requiring air pressure to be maintained I see no benefit, and if it is driven in mud or snow I can see some problems.

    The radial ribs are doing the flexing like the tire sidewall does now. We adjust air pressure to provide the best combination of ride, handling, and service life. I have no idea how this design copes with variations in weight which is the case with trucks, buses and pickups. Over load them and the same flexing that builds up heat and creates sidewall failures on our current tires will cause failures of the ribs.

    I assume the center of the openings above the tread has to be crowned so if the tire gets something in the holes, centrifugal force will work the debris out of the tire. If across the top of the tread inside the tire is flat I cannot see how the tire will fling stuff that will create an imbalance out of the tire.

    Plus the tire is just plain ugly.

    Pretty sure the tire, when produced, will actually look like a standard tire…the exposed interior is probably to more easily demonstrate the working concept.

    I have a similar product on my bicycle.

    We drove up to check on the farms the last couple of days and this is the first time I’ve seen these tires.

    I wonder how these will work on the coach?
