Colorado Springs
Apparently Prevost Community members never stop in Colorado Springs as there are NO campgrounds, parks, or resorts listed on the PC map. Will we be Prevost Pioneers? I suspect not.
Any suggestions for Colorado Springs? We are in Albuquerque at the American RV Resort performing a short arms and ramp inspection on half of Triple Foxtrot in preparation for the Albuqueque Balloon Festival/PC Extravaganza this fall. We plan on arriving in Colorado Springs on Monday.

Dick, There is a nice KOA just short of Colorado Springs in Fountain, CO. It is called the Colorado Springs KOA, 8100 Bandley Dr. Fountain, CO 80817.
800-562-8609 Just off I-25 super easy off and on. The Loves at that exit is for cars only, no truck or bus as no room to turn around.
Exit 132 then a quick left onto the frontage road, headed South, past the loves and will be the second left. Turn in a little tight for the un initiated, but easy doable. It all depends on who thjey have lead you to your site, but you will probably head North then do a sharp left and another left to get to your site. If they have parked some long 5th wheel on the end, it is a really tight so swing far right off the pavement to make those left turns. If nothing on the ends, super easy. Enjoy your stay.

Dick, do you have the Allstays Camp and RV app? It shows a number of campgrounds near Colorado Springs.

Definitely the KOA in Fountain just S. of Colorado Springs. If you want to be closer to Pikes Peak or Garden of the Gods, there is a nice RV park called Garden of the Gods RV Resort. All the others close to that area are really to be avoided. Well, maybe Foot of the Rockies RV Resort is OK as well but it’s hilly getting in and out but the sites are OK.

We had stayed at this resort several years ago in a 40ft fifth wheel. But not in a Prevost. It is beautiful. Call to see if they can accomdate you. You would need to stay in front of resort because of weight. It is easy access to Colorado Springs by TOAD.

We stayed at Cheyenne Mountain State Park. It’s in a great location and it has awesome views. We had a very long pull thru that was parallel to the road. It has a nice trail and plenty of walking trails.

Dang, I forget got about Cheyenne Mountain State Park! How could I do that?
That is a great place but not inexpensive as you have to pay for the campsite plus a CO State Park pass. Be sure to arrive with the toad hooked up or you get charged for 2 vehicles. It’s not as convenient to the sites in the area but it is by far the most beautiful and has lots and lots of room.

We call a number of parks, got voice mail each time. Garden of the Gods was the first one that called back so we signed up there.
Lots of good suggestions and apparently good experiences. Don’t forget to put those parks and experiences on the PC map!
