Cockpit Tray
Posted by Archived on March 8, 2019 at 8:44 pmI bought the plastic tray BA put on the Flea Market and finally finished the project. It’s nice and sturdy and I have about 80 bucks in it. So when you’re running along with a sammy in your lap and potato chips falling all over the floor I’ll be thinking of you.

Looks great….one question how did you secure tray with holder ?
Maybe cup holder mounted to wood base ?
-
That looks a bit less “in the way” than the tray arrangement you had in your ‘02 Tom. Probably much lighter also.

At first I thought it was a bed pan… smile
On closer look, it seems very practical and well done.
If someone wanted one in stainless :

Larry – The one in your 02 was the best I ever saw, we’ll done by Marathon and built like a tank, wish I had one like it.
BA – Mounted the cup holder to the wood base.
Les – Looks like a CC option..

I like Les’s. It would double as a hat. Oh! And ‘triple’ as a … never mind.
Sittin’ here at Carroll’s on I 75. Good spot.

The nice part about the one Les posted is it is spill proof and has an easy drink opening in case of a spill….

I’m waiting for the next generation of trays to come with a small hotplate to make a warm meal, a holder for the smart phone, and a provision to make a trip to the potty unnecessary.
The seat behind the steering wheel is not there for dining, it was placed there for driving. No wonder cars are being produced with steering assist to keep the car in its lane and automatic braking.
