  • CoachNet Road Hazard Protection – anyone use it?

Posted by June on February 2, 2016 at 11:04 pm

We are switching to CoachNet for roadside assistance and found they also offer road hazard protection that covers tires and wheels. According to what we have been told, the service includes up to two tire replacements per year (no limit on cost), up to five service events per year (no limit on cost), and up to two wheel damage repairs (up to $300 max) per year. The cost for this coverage is less than $200 per year… with the cost of the tires, it seems like a no-brainer. The coverage is only for vehicles of the current model year plus fifteen years prior.

Anybody have any experience with this coverage? We did tell the agent that we have a Prevost coach… the little voice in my head is saying ‘if it is too good to be true, it probably is.’

    Good morning,

I had added this service after questioning them very carefully. I have had similar services on my toad, and have used them three times (not coach net but service offered by dealer when purchasing the car). I do not maintain similar services on our car that is not towed.

I added this service last year. Had a tire loose tread (why still do not know since did not run over anything), Luckily no blow out just tread damage and obviously not able to be repaired. Luckily was very near home when it happened. called coachnet. The only questioon they asked anyone when the tire people came to the coach was the depth of the tread since has to be over 3/32″. Once that verified, new tire, no cost to me. Wheel was not injured at all since tire never went flat. By the way this was on 365.

    Hope this helps

Since owning Class A motorhomes we have purchased the CoachNet service. We have had two of our class A’s towed and CoachNet has provided good customer service. We have been very satisified with their service.

We have coachnet also. We don’t have the tire service since our tires are brand new; however it may be worth looking at again depending on the premium they charge. I think it was only $20 or so, so it may not be a bad idea.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments. I did sign us up for the road hazard insurance along with the roadside assistance. Since I purchased both at the same time, we got a discount on the roadside assistance and the hazard insurance was $190. We felt that new tires are just as likely to have a road hazard as ones that are 5 years old or less. When you look at our cost of $190 annuallly which will cover two new tires ($700 – $1,000+ each) , it is a bargain. For what its worth, they guaranteed the correct replacement through their network.

CN just informed me that tire delivery & labor are covered, I pay for new tire on Bus, trailer or Toad if I have premier plan.

You are correct about the coverage under the premium plan (that is what we now have). The hazard insurance is in addition to the premium plan, and will cover the cost of purchasing two tires per year. Also, if rims are damaged, they will be repaired also, up to a total cost of $300 per year. I will be happy to just have the cost of the tire covered! Our intentions is not to have to use it 😉

Wasn’t aware of add on hazard coverage. Sounds like good insurance. From experience these tire guys charge $1k for low end truck tires when they show up. CN did say they will “try” to match what you have but it needs to be impressed on the customer rep when you call. Thanks for the info.

For past couple years we had Coach-Net Premier 24/7 Technical and Roadside assistance and Hazard Protect RV Tire and Wheel Protection.

This AM – we renewed our Coach-Net Premier 24/7 Technical and Roadside assistance but were declined Hazard Protect RV Tire and wheel Protection due to coach being a 2000.

Was told that minimum year that qualifies for Hazard Protect is 2003…

Not sure what the year of the coach has to do with the Tire Hazard Insurance…

Age discrimination. I suspect they are stereotyping older coaches as being more likely to have something go wrong with them.
