Coach right rear won’t lower
In manual mode, I can’t get the right rear to exhaust air. Left rear exhausts air in steer compartment.
Any ideas Jon?

No. It is unresponsive. I can hear it ‘spit’ a little air from inside the steer compartment but that is all.

Could be the 5 port in the steering bay. You can swap out one of the coils and/or the valve, but hard to explain on the Internet. The center one is the travel and don’t remember which is the stbd. Careful, they were 24v from Prevost, but Liberty probably changed some to 12v, they did on mine and Prevost doesn’t sell any of the 12’s.

Tom are you talking about the row of 5 coils on the back wall?
If so, I swapped out the second from the bottom which is supposed to be the starboard rear. Didn’t seem to make any difference.

I believe your Norgren which controls the exhausing of air on the right rear is one of the electrically actuated three port Norgren valves on the floor of the steer compartment next to the steering box. Whichever one isn’t exhausting air when you attempt to lower the rear is the one controlling the RH side.
The way I would analyze it would be to verify which valve is not releasing air and then swap the solenoid operator on the end with the one working. See if that shifts the problem to the other side.
If not the next valve in line is the five port on the bulkhead ahead of the drive axle but I don’t think that is the problem.
I assume if you raise the rear to its highest position putting the switch in the road position causes the rear to drop to the driving height?

Okay Jon. I will try swapping the solenoid operator on the floor mounted Norgrens tomorrow. If that doesn’t work, could it be in the valve itself?
The bus does go to ride height okay. It’s just in manual mode it occurs.

If the RH rear will not lower in manual mode it means the exhaust path for the air in the air bags is blocked.
On a Liberty I believe the only two Norgrens in that path are the 5 port at the RH rear and the solenoid operated Norgren in the steer compartment. For now I can’t believe the five port is the issue. The front 3 port Norgren is my focus and that is where I start if I had the problem. If swapping coils doesn’t work it is possible the valve spool is frozen in place, but that is not my second guess. If swapping coils doesn’t do it, then my next thing to check is the “up-down” switch for the RH rear. Look for power coming to the RH rear Norgren 3 port when you have the solenoid coil wires off after the swap. If no power then check the switch.
My guess is the solenoid coil. If you want you don’t even have to swap coils if you want to check everything with a multi-tester.

Did
you swap just the coil or both coil and valve? I’ll defer to Jon, but
I’ve had coil and valves go bad and now carry spares and just swap
out the assembly. If you remove the valve there is a tiny “o”
ring on the back side that sometimes falls off.
