Thing I would do differant: it’s to fast 15sec in/ I can change that. I do have manual crank incase of motor failure. Just thought I would share that. This is my 2nd set of slides in bus. I’m enjoying finishing these projects now.!!Bob

Still shooting for Florida for winter. Not going to push it. Haven’t fired engine yet. Just hopeing when I hit that button—well you can guess that answer. Prob shake down late Oct or Nov. Where does the time go???

While I cannot relate to anything on the scale of what you are doing it is easy to see how time flies by. I can take a project on my coach and while doing that find the opportunity to deal with multiple other details unrelated such as painting and scraping when I am supposed to be doing something else. As long as I am in here doing this, I might just as well do that before I button it up…………….

Good work there Bob. Talking about slide stops, bought a 2006 Alfa Fifthwheel to stay in while we built our house. kept it about a year and took it down (1997) to PPL in Houston to sell. Went down to check and the main living room slide had kept going for someone and you could throw a cat between opening. It had set there I don’t know how long on there lot like that. Rain had got in. Can you say Pissed!

I disabled the micro switches yesterday and ran it thru on purpose to check back up!!!! All is good.. The key sheared as I planned. I always plan in three-s.. That way if first two fail there is always the AW—-Sh–T Back up.. The key was #2.. Bob

I am very clear on the “threes” when it comes to safety.

My plane was certified for flight into icing conditions. (Ice is for whiskey and not much else, especially planes.)

My three rules were: Don’t go in ice in the first place. If you are stupid enough to go into icing, get out of it. If you are so dumb you ignored rules one and two, use the deicing equipment.

There were no other options.

been 11 months since I started this record of my rebuild.. Thought this was most approiate forum title.. since then have closed eyes and hit buttons more that once. Engine fired after very few revolutions, 10 sp works in correct direction. Fworard/reverse. all the house systems check out. Got fan delima figured out–was a simple as swaping ends with driven gear–box was out of 8v-92 equiped bus that was a pusher. The sucker fan is what I need with the CAC/60 serries. Tires are in shop on wheels awaiting instalation.(need my sons to help with moving them). So far so good.. I have built every engine mount. Rad shroud –basically everything including gear change in rear differential to 3:07 = 1450 rpm @ 70 mph. Several fellow bus guys have supplied missing parts as I do share with them..My wife and I have recovered 2 Bolstam seats to match interior. Actually getting down to punch list.. Awaiting new paint ;probably next year when we decide what we want..It will be a home done job! Just a update..for now. Got new stainless siding from IBP. Bob Ps still in no hurry!

Good to hear you are making progress and that you got the fan drive figured out. Get some pictures up amd give us a video of some of those slides working.
