toss the old unit..get an induction unit. It fits right in, no alterations. Even Truk can do it. We never really used the cooktop before but we use it more now. You need special pots and pans but the results and lack of heat etc are well worth the change over.

Where can one find the Indufix cooktop? The google did not help much.

Our cover can definitely be put on with the switches 180 degrees from the off position. However, since we don’t use the cooktop when driving, it is not an issue.

Mine looks like the picture Al posted and the problem was that my daughter was unfamilar with the stove never used it before and had the left burner set at 180 degress from off at the 5 position so the cover went right on and wasn’t a problem until the stove saw AC from the Geny or shore.
We have induction at the house so I think that is what we will end up going with.

Bill, that is from the Liberty and I especially wanted to point out the knobs are not symetrical which makes it impossible to have the knobs 180 degrees from OFF and still be able to set the cover on.
I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to potential problems so there are certain devices on our coach whose circuit breakers are only ON when they are in use, and as soon as we are done using them the breaker is turned off. The grille and the cook top are two of them, but I also will not turn on the breaker for awnings. I never use auto start for the generator. The switch for the TVs is always off except when we are on the road because the dish is on the same circuit and I don’t want it to be searching when the bus is in the garage. I know it stops after a while but I just don’t want it searching. I also turn off the aux compressor and water pump in the garage and only use the aux compressor on the road if I think I need air for something. I don’t turn on the breakers to the washer and dryer unless we are using it, or the bay outlets, or the chassis battery charger, or the block heater.
I think it is a good practice just to be thinking about only turning on power to devices when we use them.

To Roy who asked wher he can get one, and to all others, the Indufix is no longer available. The Germn company which sold them, to me and others on this board, is out of business.
However, there are several other brands, on eBay and Amazon and elsewhere, which are essentially the same product.
All of the 2 burner tops should be a drop-in replacement for the ancient Gaggenau. The Gaggenau is a good paperweight but that is about all it is.
As for “special cookware neeed”, as long as it is MAGNETIC, it will work.
IKEA sells a set of pots for about $200 … !!
Cast iron would work perfect but it is much too heavy.
By the way, I was the first one to install the Indufix and it is still working like the day it was installed.
If you cook inside the bus, induction is the only way to go.
And, you can sell the Gaggenau on eBay and probably get close to the money the induction cooktop will cost you! I did.

Actually the guy I purchased from years ago was in Germany (I think he was your guy too)… He has since openned a business in Florida and the same cooktops are still available. I emailed him from my old (second) purchase for a member here on PC who wanted one and found out he is still infact in business.
He has them listed for $159.99 under the brand of Domino 2 burner induction….. he is a great guy and sent me extra wiring diagrams etc.
His name is Uhmeyer. For some reason I can’t post a link here but the Ebay item # is 191853317809.
His Storefront name is now “kitchen-and-home”.

induction stove should be 191853305168 from Kitchen-and-home. And, like you, I love the induction unit. -

You are correct… I didn’t notice that it said radiant… the INDUCTION is the sellers other auction… the pictures looked the same… I stand corrected !! Thank you.And yes… you are correct …. Induction is the only way to go.

The induction stoves on eBay look like they are 220 vac but I believe (from memory) that my radiant stove is 120 vac, do they make 120 vac induction stoves as a direct replacement? -
I had a chance to check my drawings and it looks like I have a 240 vac stove probably like everyone else. It’s the only thing that runs on 240 vac on my coach. Lot’s of stuff to learn!
