A huge shout out for the guys at Clearwater Motorcoach! We have been a long time customer through all their name changes from CoachWorkz to Parliament to the short lived Coach USA and now Clearwater Motorcoach. But the nucleus of the crew has remained the same. On Oct 28th late in the afternoon we were on our way from Bradenton,Fl to Milwaukee,Wi for business and had to be there by 6am on Monday Oct 31st. We stopped at a rest area about 30 mi north of Tampa on I75. When we ready to leave, we discovered that the rear brakes were locked and we could not move. With Richard on the phone, we removed the rear fenders and started to troubleshoot the problem. We pretty much determined that the problem was most likely one of the rear brake control valves and probably the one that also controls the park brake. None the less, he sent two of his techs, Andy and Shane to verify what Richard and I had diagnosed. They verified that it was indeed one of the brake control valves. The next morning Richard located the valve and came to where we were to figure out what fittings and plugs were needed and then went back to Clearwater to install said fittings and plugs and then returned to where we were. Richard and I installed the valve and we were ready to go. By then it was 330 Sat afternoon. It made for a bit longer stint behind the wheel Sat night and Sun,but we made Milwaukee Sun night in time to start out training for a new business venture at 6am Mon morning. Above and beyond! These guys have proved over the years that they are the best! Forever grateful, George and Corey

Glad to hear it. Good shops are in short supply these days.

On the other hand, aren’t you going the wrong way this time of year? I thought you would be staying in FL, not going to Milwaukee… Just wondering…

Yes, Kudos Clearwater Motorcoach. Richard is a outstanding guy, he got me into my coach last year as a Prevost Nubie. Great shop expertise also!

Hi Mark, I know it looks stupid to go that time of year. We had to go for training and school for a new business venture of ours. It was originally scheduled for this past August as we were opening the new business in November. But because of supply chain issues we will not be opening until this April, so they got the trading as close to that as possible without going in the middle of winter. Nonetheless, what motivated you to go to the dark side? Hope all is well. George

The dark side is quite nice. Better engine power and fuel mileage and a very nice interior layout. It drives very well, maybe not quite as good a ride as Prevost, but is pretty good. I could buy 2+ of these for what a new Liberty or Marathon would cost. I have had no more issues with this than any of my Prevost coaches, and probably less in total. Best is that Kristi likes this one even better than our last Liberty in terms of comfort and layout.

Newmar has an excellent service facility in Indiana that is huge, and staffed with very good people. It is by far the largest, well laid out and cleanest service facility I have been in. It is closer to me than driving to anywhere other than ETLC, where I still go for service items.

Take care and don’t get too cold up in the frozen north.
