Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel
Has anyone driven this 20 mile stretch in an XLii? Should I worry about vertical clearance? Leaving Jersey City tomorrow and headed to Norfolk. Thanks for the help.

Call the state police for info or look in some of the Rand McNally type map atlases.
In the front of some of the atlases they have state by state regulations, towing laws and some low clearance locations.

Vertical Clearance is 13’6″
Horizontal Clearance is 24′.

I went through there some years ago in a forest river coach and the only thing they were concerned about was that my propane tank was shut off. they had a spot set aside that they used to physically check that it was off. Things probably have changed since then but the clearances havent .

I wimped out and came down 95 and 64 then through the Norfolk tunnel which, oddly is 14′-6″ eastbound and 13′-6″ westbound. Except for holiday traffic to VA Beach it was a piece of cake. We will leave by bridge out towards Charleston.
