I installed the Norco 2 bank 8amp charger for the chassis batteries a year ago. The chassis batteries are set up as a series of two banks of two batteries each. Thus the use of a two bank 12V charger.
When I measure the voltage after several days of charging with the charger showing fully charged (green light), the voltage exceeds 30V. A bit high for my taste, so I always disconnect it between charges (every couple of months or so when we are not travelling).

That does seem high. I’ll have to check mine next week. I just st recently installed it so this will be my first time checking it with all of the batteries being at full charge. -
Float voltage is dependent upon the batteries, but assuming flooded cell I would be more comfortable with 13.4 to 13.8 tops.
Higher than that, especially 30 volts is just going to destroy the batteries.

After getting caught with my pants down this summer when my bus wouldn’t start because of fried chassis batteries, I was put in a position to either keep the old outdated charger, go without a chassis charger, or get in the 21st century. After talking to a friend that runs the service area of a coach leasing company (Nite Train), he suggested using the Dual Pro ps/2, which is a 2 bank 15amp charge. He uses them on all of the coaches they have which is about 125 or more at this time. I’ve had them on the bus for about two months, and they float on each of the batteries is about 13.4 volts. The charger is also repairable. Btw, if it wasn’t for the help of the people here on this forum I might still be stuck in Huntsville..
