  • Central Cruiser will not run

Posted by Raymond on July 26, 2016 at 9:28 am

    We
are full-timers and it’s unbearable in this heat without AC.

    Our
Cruisair Central unit (RVAC) worked all day yesterday on the generator but when
we hooked up in Albuquerque it would not start again.

    Have
checked all the breakers and they are all set, I did not take the unit apart, that’s
    above my knowledge base.

    Does
anyone know a AC service company in Albuquerque NM that works on Cruisair units?

    Thanks

Which breakers have you checked ?

Have you switched the breaker to allow shore power into bus ?

Have you verified power at the pole with your protection / surge plug in ?

Yes – we have baypass switches (Featherlite conversion) that allow isolation for Gen, Normal or Shore.

We have Curisair units in the bedroom and the front of the coach and they both work, just not enough to cool in the 100 degree temps

    Second what Al suggested…verify:

    – power at the pole if surge unit available,

    – make sure your shore power switch is on,

    – check main control panel for errors(gen vs inverter power – AUX – error) and reset.

I take it you’ve been here before?

    Interesting
place, like going back in time, however they seem knowledgeable, with modern
    and expensive tools and equipment

    And
you’re correct, a visit to the end of the road calls for a wash.

    Sometimes looks can be deceiving.

You can’t always just a book by its cover.

You probably already checked it , but every once in a while I forget about the breaker by the driver seat.

I bump it and don’t realize it.

    good luck

Well I thought that I should bring everyone up to date on the
RVAC issue and what the results were.

First let me say how much I appreciate the community and the
support everyone is so willing to offer.

    Could
not get anyone to work on the RVAC I guess R22 certification is an issue there.
It turns out the board is fairly easy to remove and inspect, upon inspection I
noticed three burn spots on a relay and couple other location that had been
very hot. I called AAP and they can have the board rebuilt, it’s out now for
rebuild. Should have it back next week. In the meantime, we motored up to
Breckenridge where the temps are under 70 daytime and low 50’s at night until
    we have AC repair parts.
