Anyone out there with any suggestions as to where to get the AC clutch for the rear air replaced in western NY? Thank you in advance.

    Corey,

Have you tried a local Ryder truck place? They are very big in the parts business now.

There’s nothing unique about the CC OTR air clutch. Any AC shop or parts place should have one. The challenge may be getting one with the right pulley, unless you are going to use the old one. You can save a bunch by shopping the Internet or eBay. I got a new one from eBay and had them supply it with the pulley for less than $50 plus shipping and it was made in Japan.

Thanks Jon and Gil, The clutch froze up so I assume the pulley is fine. I will try and find an A/C shop tomorrow in Binghampton. Luckily we have a set of belts that by-passes the A/C unit and just goes to the alt. Am rolling, just w/o bdrm air.

Thanks Charles, Nothing in Binghampton. We’ll be in New Hampshire for a week and deal with it there.

Sorry Corey, that should have been B grove for the belts. Mine uses 2 B94 belts.

Gil, thanks. One of your links got me a clutch out of Fla. Still have a problem though. The clutch will not engage. the wire is re-connected and everything control wise on the dash is lit. What we do have for a tech here in Wi found the fuses for it in the engine compartment and they are good, but there appears to be a resistor and diode of some sort for it also. But neither he nor I really understand the CC way of doing things. Any ideas?

When you take it in. check voltage— 12V or 24… On my older one both were used. I had aux air on the 89 (bed room air) it had a 24 volt clutch. Prob not same system but worth a simple check. bob

Have you ruled out the low pressure switch? Also, there is a time delay of a couple of minutes and that device is also in the electrical box.

    Corey,

I have 2 pressure switches near the compressor. Each is wired in series with the power to the clutch. So, after waiting for any timer to expire, see if you have voltage going to the first pressure switches. It should be pretty straight forward on which wire is coming to this area. I’d have to see if it’s on the CC drawings, but I was once told the fans under the coach also have to be on.

Thanks guys. Found the problem, it was the 7.5a fuse in the CC control center. But the same system has a minor leak and is a little low on pressure. So, dye kit, fix leak and re-charge. My question though is what size is the rear system, so I know how much freon I need? Thanks in advance.
