CC electrical problem
I attempted to swap out the old fantastic fan in the main bath. I bought a new fantastic fan to replace it. When I finally got all the screws removed and the old fan out I noticed the old fan was wired with 4 wires and the new fan has 2. The red wire tied to the power. A green wire as neutral. The other two wires, a black and a blue wire which run to the fans control unit.
i wired the green wire and the red to the new fan. Since the new fan has a wireless remote, I did not need to wire up the black and blue ones. Here is where things go off the rails.
no power to the fan. I then went into the bus and discovered that my vanity lights in the potty room did not work. The potty fan also did not work. The switch panel also stopped working (no lighting of the sunmullion lights). the toilet (microphor) does work. The power outlet by the sink does work.
I checked all all of my GFI receptacles . They are good. I checked the CB’s in the panel in our bedroom, none tripped. Reset all . I checked the CB’s in the 3rd bay passenger side. None tripped. I check the carousel clothes rack in the wardrobe, it works. I then check the electric a panel in bay one. No blown fuses and no faults.
I turned off off shore power, then hit the main battery disconnect. Killing all power to the bus. I reset the power and turned it all back on. No luck. No power to the potty lights and aforementioned items.
I am a wits end. I checked the electrical schematic and see my potty light ties to a 120V AC relay. That relay also has my water heaters on it as well as a air compressor. The heaters & compressor work. If a relay fails, none of them work. I also cannot find where the relay is located.
My bus is a 1998 XL 45 converted by Country Coach.
any help is appriciated. If I cannot fix it, I have an appointment to get other items done at Commowealth Coach on the 21st. Maybe Chuck Williams can figure this out.

The relays you are looking for in my coach are under the floor panel of the wardrobe. Based again on my coach the items which have failed seem to have ECC card 25A in common. I would check the ECC again especially the ones down low on the cooper bar. Let us know when you find the problem. -

I will double check the 25a ECC Card & fuses today (if there is a break in the rain) As for the relay being under the floor panel in the wardrobe, I am confused / ignorant of that location.
I have main wardrobe in the aft bedroom of the bus with 4 drawers below it. I have no access unless I pull the drawers. When I did that I did not see it. I also looked at the closets in the bath area and see no panel there.
I suspect that either a common ground is my issue or as you stated a fuse is blown. Hopefully I did not mess up the ECC card.
If I can’t figure it out, I’ll hold off until next week and let Chuck diagnose/fix the problem. I’ll post what ever I find.

Sorry I wasn’t more clear. My coach has drivers side private toilet next to a closet which has hanging space in the top half and drawers below, next to that closet what I called the wardrobe ( hanging closet?) all in the bath area, then you enter the bedroom. The floor of that closet ( hanging closet) has to be removed to reveal the relays.
I agree it sounds like a fuse or ground. My schematic also shows a fuse in the fan unit itself. It may be too much trouble but have you considered reconnecting the old fan to see if all the functions returned? Good luck. -

my bus has a hanging closet and a closet with the washer/dryer combo. I’ll double check the floor .i did put the old unit back in. Wired it back up and still have no power. Due to the rain, I can’t go into the ECC bay as I have a Joey bed with stuff on it. I plan on removing and replacing the fuses on the boards that may be at fault.
I spoke iwith Chuck at Commonwealth. He said it may be a fuse but does not believe it would be the ground. If the rain does not cooperate, I’ll wait. At this point, I can live with not having a vent or lights in the potty. Pam is on a trip for a week. This makes it just a problem for me. I am heading to Commonwealth next Monday the 21st

we just returned from Hopewell & our trip to Commonwealth Coach. Chuck fixed the electrical, put on new shocks, removed the old washer/dryer combo unit & serviced the Webasto. I am very pleased on the service Chuck provided. His team is awesome.
I shall all now throw myself under the “Bus” on my electrical problem. The 422 wire to the ECC has a 7.5 fuse. Upon initial inspection, the fuse did not look blown, after removal and replacement it was the culprit. Being able to have a dry enviroment to roll out the Joey bed, open up the ECC panel and inspect the fuses and boards helped a bunch. Such is life being a full timer and a campground. Everything works and our new fan is installed.

Thanks for the update Chip. Us CC/ECC guys have to stick together and exchange all the info we can. Glad it worked out.
