  • CC Doorbell not working

Posted by Jeff on February 14, 2016 at 8:21 pm
Does anyone know where I might find the doorbell on my 2004 CC XLII… the button on the outside of the door doesn’t work. I cannot locate the unit itself in side the coach antwhere. Providing it is still there and hasn’t been removed by someone previuosly. I have looked under the kitchen sink and everywhere else I can think of and no luck.Thought if I could find it I might have a starting point to track down the issue. It doesn’t appear to be in the converters wiring diagrams either… Any thoughts ?

I had this problem on our Marathon. It was a pinched wire in the upper door hinge. If your setup is similar to Marathon’s, you only need to remove the upper hinge cover/trim to see and fix the pinched wire.

While you are at it, check the other wires. Eventually the power door lock will go out too if the wires are not routed with sufficent slack.

On our coach the actual door bell is behing the microwave. But it worked fine once I fixed the wire in the hinge.

    Good luck, Gerald

Thanx, Gerald … I will look behind the microwave and check the door hinge… Maybe I’ll get lucky.

The door bell box IS under the sink, hard to see but on right side of under cabinet.

Thanx for the info… Got it fixed, one wire had corroded on the back of the door button and had come all the way off. Cleaned it up put on new terminal end and shes working like a top. BTW the doorbell unit is located straight above the entry door.

Apologies, I read too quickly and focused on the CC and XL, not the fact that it is a 2002 and an XL2!

My answer is for an older Country Coach like mine (1997).
