Can you drive a coach throug Yosemite Park
Hello PC community has anyone driven there coach through Yosemite Park. Any info would be helpful thank you.

Have you checked out the vehicle restriction listed on the park website?

Check out the website – many restrictions. I drove the coach only (someone else drove the toad) in and out on 120 from the Groveland side to and from Crane Flats campground (which by the way are not flat). We left the coach for the week and drove around in the toad. For the most part cars and sport bikes have ZERO tolerance for anything that won’t negotiate the roads at triple the posted speed limit so I tried to pull-off as much as possible but it was still extremely stressful and had a few “moments of complete disbelief”. Still a beautiful place! Bring lots of blocks to level your coach if you stay in Crane Flats. The valley campgrounds are much flatter but no electric = no A/C and it gets stinking hot in the summer. Crane Flats is at quite a bit higher elevation and is much cooler. All the park campgrounds have generator restrictions.

Thanks for the info because I have half of my family with me right now and my toad would only hold 5. I took the chance and tried it for the record I will not be taking the coach in another park like that. Park ranger said I would be fine buses come in all the time. We’ll take my advice and keep out its the most stress I have been in since buying the coach.

can you drive a Prevost through Yosemite? I did with a toad and two other Prevost following me. But I promise to never do that again. It is called the pucker factor and it pegged the needle for me. Hwy 120 thru Groveland then 120 through the park towards mammouth lake to hwy 395 on the east side of the Sierra Nevada. Beautiful if you get a chanc to take your eyes off the road.
i may never take the bus back to California after that ride.

The Tioga pass on Hwy 120 west of Lee Vining is breathtakingly beautiful. It literally brings tears to my eyes every time I drive it. But it is not meant for travel in a bus or other large vehicle. It is tempting to take that route because there are so few roads across the Sierras, but I strongly recommend that you reserve this part of Hwy 120 for your toad. Use I-80 to cross the mountains in your bus. After all, I-80 is on the route the Donner’s thought would be best…
Roger, didn’t I try to disuade you from taking 120? You are a braver man than I, and are to be commended for completing the route without incident.
p.s.: The Tioga pass is well over 10,000 feet elevation and Hwy 120 is usually closed for at least 6 months of the year due to snow.

Bryan. It was your good help that got us through. Thanks again. The internment camp in Manasar was well worth he stop and Donners pass was a good stop. Enjoyed both. Want to go back to Virginia city, Nv sometime. That was a very entertaining as well as enlighting.
