Cabin A/C air filter
Posted by Tim on November 6, 2017 at 7:58 amMost of you all no doubt do this already, but after two years, I pulled the Cabin A/C air filter in the front of the bus and cleaned it. Definitely needed it and helps the dash A/C run better.
I should have had this on my maintenance log book for annual cleaning, but it’s now added.

Mine is located on the right lower side of the passenger dash, as you come in from the entry door. Mine is located behind a stainless steel grate with four screws.

“Hide” is the right word. After a phone call to Marathon, we found ours behind the right-hand side of the refrigerator after taking the garbage drawer off its slides. That’s for the galley. The bedroom filter is behind the louvered pillar/post to the right of the clothes closet. If you have all those delicate little louvers, they are mounted on a wood frame that can be unscrewed to get to the mesh pre-filters.

your coach must have a different floor plan the Mine . there is a hidden cover in the back closet (lots of screws) i am going to take apart at our next stop…. but the Galley one has me scratching my head… looks like i might have to pull the fridge out ,,, i would think they would have made it a little easier than that ,,,

All our three coaches were Liberty, and all three had Cruiseairs. That meant we had filters for the evaporators and all three had different locations for the filters. I don’t believe there is any such thing as a standard filter location regardless of who the converter is.
When anyone gets a coach that is new to them the first thing they should do is explore the coach. Before any possessions are loaded open all the cabinets and closets and look for access panels, open them up and see what you can find. You likely will not only find filters, but you will find shut off valves, plus a wide variety of other goodies such as wires, hoses, water lines, drain lines, and maybe even devices you never knew you had such as antenna signal boosters, power supplies, junction boxes, etc.
By doing that you at least have some idea of what is where and how to get at some stuff, including service items such as filters.

Dave, you should call Marathon; they’ll be able to tell you where your galley filter is.
