  • Bus needs a new wash brush

Posted by AL on April 5, 2012 at 11:34 am

Would there by any suggestions on a exterior wash brush ? Looking for something soft touch, fits in a 5 gal bucket, long handle, reasonable price.

Been on the internet and saw boars hair. Reviews were about 50/50 for scratches on clear coat.

I thought you posted a while back your coach never needs washing? And to inquire about a brush suggests it not only needs washing, but you are contemplating on doing the work yourself. What’s up with that?

    Al..

We use a boat washing brush made by Shurhold. You buy the handle and the brush separately.. the yellow brush is very soft and won’t scratch your paint…. feel the bristles really well as they also make deck scrubbers that are very course. The handle is stainless steel and very long telescoping. I can reach the top of the H with it. Very good quality !!

They also make a variety of mop type heads for drying the bus/boat too. They are expensive but you get what you pay for… well… sometimes anyway !!

You can find these at any good ships store like West Marine… or I think their website is http://www.shurhold.com .. I have had mine for years they may have even better ones today.

    Thanks Diane.

I saw on there web site a 10 inch with soft bristles. Is that the one you have ?

Jon ….on the rare occasion that any Marathon needs attention I want to be prepared.

    Al,

I have the Shurhold brush and lambs wool pad and with the telescoping handle it’s a great setup. Forget any customer service, unless they have changed over the last 3 years.

    Al…

Yes mine is a 10″ brush make sure it’s ultra soft as they do make a few different ones.. Your best bet is a marine store like West Marine so you can see exactly what you are buying… also a good idea to buy from somewhere that you can take it back if it’s not what you want especially after what Tom said about his experience with them. Mine has been great used every week for years.

The lamswool that Tom has sounds good too…

    Good luck,

    Diane

Another vote for the Shurhold brush/telescoping pole setup.

I’ve been using it for several years now and the soft brush won’t scratch your clear coat.

Only problem I’ve had is getting Janice to wash the bus for me……

Me too on the Shurhold brush and pole. I have two of each and they work well. Also got one squeege that fits the handles and works great on the windshield.

I orderd mine online direct from Shurhold and had no issues other than it took a while to get here.

Every one of your guys are wimps. A tall step ladder and a wash mitt. Man up!

Next thing someone is going to start advocating a deionized water system that can wash the bus while sitting in a ZipDee chair.
