  • Bus Gathering (Rally) in TN

Posted by Bryce on January 11, 2012 at 1:51 pm

Hey folks as some of you know, and many probably don’t many of my friends an I get together every so often and have an informal Bus Rally (or gathering if you prefer)

Well it’s going to happen again this year as Bob Gline, Don Fairchild & myself are going to set up and host it here @ my place in Huntingdon, TN.

Looking at either the first weekend in September (Aug 31, Sept 1 & 2) or the next (Sept 7,8 & 9) early arrivals and late departures are always welcome.

More info to follow as things progress. Please let us know if your interested, and by all means offer any suggestions you have.

Here is a link to Don’s first post about it over @ BCM http://www.busconversions.com/bbs/index.php?topic+22659.0

Well the link didn’t work but if you copy & paste it you will get the BCM board. Then click on “bus topics” and scroll down until you find “Bus Rally” by Don Faidchild.

Also we will keep updates posted here.

I have been to some converted bus rallies and I can say with confidence those that built their own buses and those with store bought buses will have a lot to learn from one another and swapping lies and bragging about our coaches makes for an interesting rally.

I presume there will be a formal agenda and activities for our ladies?

I think I speak for the others: it depends on number replys. And what the ladies are intrested in?? My wife does the uphlostry in our coach?? are any intrested in hands on? or more like shopping? We need to know..In past mostly food and fellowship on site with few side shopping site seeing adventures. It really depends on 25 coaches or 50 coaches. Bus open house is biggest adventure>>> already .Airzona-Indiana-Virigina-tennessee.-N.C.Carolina.prob Michigan.Alabama Texas. and that was we might just do it suggestion. If numbers increase. will adjust. Bob

Activities normally include bumpercars with Don’s pickup, pond jumping with Franks bus and then bus mud wrassling with a bus in the wet grass, assorted stuff like that, then on the second day more things to enjoy and watch.

Whenever the dates are nailed down we can put it on the calendar. I know if the schedule works I would like to show up, if for no other reason than to meet all the new folks signing up here.

OK Folks Don Fairchild of Bakersfield, CA is co-sponsoring this event, and has told me to make the dates work for the majority as he can be here Aug. 24th-26th or really anytime after that in September.

We have narrowed it down to the weekend of the 24th thru the 26th or Labor Day weekend Aug 31st through Sept 3rd or 4th.

I’m asking for people who think they will make it to give us the weekend that works best for them so we can lmake it best for the MAJORITY of attendees!
