I got locked out once and luckily the bedroom window was open so I was able to get in and disassemble the door from the inside to get it open. I had to remove the interior panel by laying on my belly with my head down in the stairwell. This was on a ’97 XL, but the mechanisms are similar enough that Prevost NJ sells XLII linkages to XL owners, since XL linkages are discontinued. If you can get the jamb side of the trim removed enough to slip your hand in there, you might be able to pull on the linkage to get it open.

Which converter?

Marathon put in a lock and latch access panel in our coach, but if you have a different converter than ours, I won’t be able to help.

Are you talking about the air lock on the top of the door? If so, this might help.

One time we had the wedge piece come unscrewed from the air cylinder. When the cylinder withdrew, the wedge just sort of hung up in the slightly raised position. There was enough dust/grease/etc to make the wedge somewhat sticky. A good clean up and screwing the wedge back onto the cylinder shaft fixed it right up.

This was covered a couple of years ago. The usual problem is the door latch mechanism breaks or fails. Prevost offered at that time a ‘kit’ that was supposed to cover a number of years. Problem was it cost close to $500. On Amazon there is a Doreman product that was a direct bolt in replacement for about $30. Do a search of these postings back a couple of years ago and you will likely find the model number.

if you are locked out while outside the coach you will also find instructions in previous posts for how to knock out the round chrome plug and use a tool to push up the release from the outside.

I have a 2001 Marathon XL2 and my top air lock is not locking now. I can not remember if locked when I put it in gear or when releasing the air brake? I checked all my fuses and they are all good.

Our 2001 Marathon Locks the upper lock when we release the parking brake,

According to the Prevost wiring diagram there are two relays under the right hand dash, Relay two and Relay three. Excerpt from the wiring diagrams below.
