Building RV parking space for visitors
Looking for ideas on how to setup some space for my coach plus a few visitors.
Need some ideas for the parking area. Trying to avoid a large gravel or cement patch that will most likely be empty more than occupied. But also could have visitors for a few weeks at a time so not sure if grass will die off.
Anyone have experience with Zoysia grass? Would it work for this area?
Obviously a few pedestals for power & water, one central sewer dump. This is for visitors not squatters
Planning a barn for my bus and other toys.
Anyone nearby (30 minutes south of Greensboro NC) feel free to stop by to offer help. Armchair help i.e. sitting by the pond and offering thoughts from experience or help from the handle end of a shovel or weedwacker is all welcome.

If you want someone to stop by need you need to give better directions. There are a lot of places that fit your definition.

Up until a few months ago I was a Yankee – lived in Connecticut for 49 years.
Now in North Carolina and looking to run some water lines outside. Is it true I only need to bury them 3 feet? As a northerner I always heard any less than 6 feet was asking for trouble.
Should I Use a couple of these 3 Foot Frost Proof Hydrant ? Or would a Pex Line tacked to a pressure treated post be just as good? I want to avoid any chance of lead or galvanized pipes for my drinking water.

I have seen open pavers installed in commercial areas then grass is allowed to grow over it. This provides a solid base for parking hidden under the grass.

I like those open pavers although can’t help but wonder if they will become unbalanced after a few frost cycles. Maybe I’ll try a few dozen and see how they look after a winter or two.

If the base is prepared coreectly there will be no problem with the pavers. However, I can speak from personal experience, they can become very slick when damp. We had a slight grade at our previous home, and I had to have the assistance of a tow truck to get us up the grade one time when it was wet.

Good to know the pavers could get slippery. Of course grass would too but gravel should not. Of course gravel could develop ruts too.

Live in FL, don’t know about that cold stuff. Would open pavers with gravel on top work?
