Last time Tom was there he woke up to find a flock of sheep around his coach.

    Not kidding.

Should have known. I still drive that stretch of I10 heading to shop/office in Odessa Tx. from Muldoon, but not as much as I used to. When I have time and I can get the bus to start, I head to the beach/Gulf (Surfside Tx.)

Hi Sid, we passed each other on Monday, I was going west in the black and silver XLII. Your bus looks great going down the road!

    Kevin,

Sid probably didn’t see you because of the intense glare of gleaming stainless from the other side of the super slab causing temporary blindness!

Thanks guys, trying to forget about that!!! I went to Austin, TX to the new race track, COTA to watch the MotoGP race and meet some folks. The track has about 45 full hook ups, not in the best viewing spot but new and nice! Fun trip but way to short.

Hey Kevin, we were just talking about you last night, and this morning we had breakfast with Ken and Janet. They mentioned you were in Texas and had a tire issue.

C’mon Kevin. You can post it here. Nobody will tell. It’ll be our little secret.

Jon, there are no secrets and thats Ok with me. So I can tell you this, The 2 front tires are Michelin XZA1 with date codes of 25-07 so 6 years old with about 50,000 miles on them. Always kept inside when not traveling. I will admit that they were on the bus when I got it in November of 07 and best I could tell they looked brand new. No I can’t swear they were never run low before I got the bus but I will tell you that from the day I picked the bus up until the tire failed they were always 5 psi over the Michelin recomended PSI. So much for going over the 5 year mark!!

So there is no question about speed and heat, I was going 64 with the cruise on at 8am with the outside temp at about 74, and had only been driving 1 hour.

I will also tell you that a front tire blow out is not for the faint at heart nor someone with average strenght and reflexes, HOLLY SHIT it took 110% of my arm and hands to hold on! The other interesting thing that I found out was that due to the huge vibration caused by the now very out of balanced tire I could hardly see, it was hard to tell the road from the dirt on the side of the road.

OK, so now that I spilled the beans, I have removed both front tires from the rims, had them repolished inside and out, got 5 double cans of the 2 part spray foam and redid the wheel well area, thats a PIA! Got lucky on everything else and life is almost back to normal, I hope!!

Just looking, is there a spell check that I don’t see cause god knows I need it!
