Before or after the fuel card discount?! With the fuel card you would have saved about 0.60/gallon off the advertised T/A price! Just used it 2 days ago and saved $610 on 104 gallon.

I looked it up on the app and it shows T/A at 3.169. Buckee’s looks like it was $2.99! Good deal!

Buckees are popping up all over but they don’t look like they have truck islands. Do they and what is it about Buckees that makes it a different fuel stop?

Buc-Cees does not allow semi’s to fuel up. Diesel fuel at Buc-Cees New Braunfels Texas is 39 yesterday. You can buy it cheaper down the road at $2.89 per gallon at a local Valero. We have the largest convience store Buc-Cees in the world here. They sell everything from art to hunting supplies. The BBQ sucks but the candies and nuts are the best.

If they don’t have truck islands I will not be a patron. Just once I fueled up at a supermarket that had inexpensive diesel fuel and the rinky dink process to refuel was a nightmare.

Start the pump with a credit card. Wait forever for refueling. In the morning I think I pee faster than that pump could flow diesel. Then the pump stopped at about $85. I tried other credit cards to get it running again but it wouldn’t take any of them so I had to go in. I cannot remember if I left cash or a credit card but that is what it took to keep the pump running.

Then after a looooong time the bus was full of fuel, but I still had to go to the cashier to get my credit card or change.

Then to get out of there I had to wiggle around cars that were in the way and pissed off people because some of them had to back up.

Our Last trip we stopped in a Buc-ee’s it’s a must stop if you are in the area. Inside the store is an Amazing Experience, Outside, Large open parking, pumps are easily accessible. They roll a lot of fuel thru these stores.

The Buc-ees are easily accessible by any size RV. However, they are not truck pumps, they are slow and they do have purchase limits designed for cars or trucks but not Prevost’s. I think I had to run a card 3 times my last visit and could not run more than twice on 1 card. I have never been inside other than to pee so if that’s the draw, it’s not for me either. Also, if I remember correctly, the price advertised is only available if you have a Teacher Credit Union credit card (or something to that affect) and it’s .10/gallon more if you pay with anything else.

We’ve never found a Buc-Eees with a better deal than the TSD card for diesel. We’ve stopped with the car. Going inside is an experience. Massive places. Huge money machines. Big signs no semi’s. We’ve seen many RVs as well as seated coaches and entertainer coaches there.

This goes back a couple years ago we were in Alabama on I10 semi pulled in parked along curb on outside of lot. This is 150 feet from us driver gets out walking towards store manager meets him about 30 feet from our pump talking and arm jester driver went back to truck and drove away ,never made it into store.

That’s commercial vehicles. They are OK with an RV bus. It’s just slow to pump and the pump has to be reset again and again as the pump hits the CC limits.

Why would anyone go to a Buckees when it is obvious they don’t want large rigs as customers? If taking on 150 gallons is a slow painful process with multiple pump resets or the need to bring cash or credit card into the fuel desk, screw that. There are a lot of places that want our business and make it easy to spend our money there.

I agree Jon. I have a Bucees and a Loves about 5 miles from where I store the bus. I used to stop at Bucees to fill up but with the auto traffic and the time it takes to put 120 gallons in the camper (about 30 minutes), I gave up and went back to Loves. At Loves it takes less than 10 minutes to fill up and with the EFS card the price difference is inconsequential. The price today is actually nine cents per gallon cheaper at Loves. Usually, Loves is 2 to 5 cents more.
