  • Brake lights not turning off

Posted by Isaiah on January 3, 2023 at 9:12 am

I had an issue with my coach where my brake lights were stuck on. Its pretty frustrating when driving down the road and you cant use the cruise. The lights would be so hot you couldn’t touch them. Steps to resolve.

    1. Steering bay, located two bendix switches under the foot pedal.

    2. Took off the gasket maker and disconnected the wires. This turned the lights off.

    3. Touched the wires together to determine that is what causes lights to work. I was able to determine the switch was stuck closed.

    4. Called Prevost and order a new part. I spent 30 min with bendix and they couldnt ID the part. Prevost was able to figure out what the new part # was and I ordered 2.

    5. Installed new switch with some thread sealer and checked and my lights work. Installed gasket maker over the bolts.

2nd switch is parts bin in the coach.

You can also buy them from places like Fleet Pride using Prevost part number. There are three. Cruise, brake lights and parking brake.
