Brake Controller
Posted by Rod on November 13, 2013 at 5:14 pmHi everyone!
Getting ready to roll our shop down the road behind us. I am going to need to install an electric brake control in the driver’s area. Does anyone know if Prevost or Liberty pre-wired for this?
Thanks!

You should have some spare wires run from front to back by Prevost. Or maybe the King ran Cat 5 for all his Bling Lights!:)

Ck see if sp-21 thru sp-24 gray are still avail in your front elect compartment under driver side window.. should be laying dead ended there leading to rear elect engine compartment box..if not already in use.. Have some other for you if those are in use. Bob

You can get a controller that mounts on trailer and the wireless remote plugs into the lighter socket ..brake pedal is 24 volts ,brake boxes are 12 volt ,this one is made by Tecumseh I have one works great.. No wires to mess with just use light wires..

An alternative if it is not too late is a surge brake. They work very well and the only electrical hook up is lights.

So far, I haven’t seen any trailers with surge brakes, Jon.
But I was looking around and was able to find the remote you talked about, Peter.
Here is that link:

Easy to put in mount on trailer, plug into bus ,if it has a plug for trailer lights at back , plug remote in and it works….I have trailer with electric brakes on all four wheels works great……
