I have gone up the parkway a couple of times I think from Ashville south.
I’m not sure I would do it in a 45′, I did it in my 40 CC towing at that.
There are a lot of switch backs and tight roadways.
It’s an unbelievable drive but a challenge.
Maybe some folks that have done it in the last couple of years will chime in here.
Check with the Highway Patrol in the state or states you are going through about weight limits and length requirements.
Also there were a couple of stone arched under passes that were really low.
I think my CC was 12′ 4″ and I had to have my gal pal get out and look at the height and also they were in a curve and one lane.

Mid 70’s I rode the Blue Ridge Pkwy and the Skyline Drive on a motorcycle. Had a great time, and the scenery was unforgettable, but certainly NOT a bus friendly route!!

Not to bad, only scary part is some of the tight winding turns require you to fade into the other lane about a 1/4 of the way and sometimes I have encountered motor cycles and small sports cars speeding and cutting the corners. I counter this by creeping around the sharp corners to give any oncoming traffic on the wrong side a chance to recover.
Absolutely a stunning drive. Many years ago drove the Blueridge and its about the same.

Have done it in my 40-foot with no tow vehicle. Would not do it again. Biggest issue is passing cyclists and blind curves – often both at the same time.
