Blown tire
Dale county, Alabama
Today 1130-5:30 Hwy 231 just south of Hwy 51 closed the southbound lanes and converted Northbound lane into 2 way traffic because of this wreck. A 40 ft RV bus pulling a Jeep had a front tire blow out causing it to leave the roadway down an embankment. Fortunately no injuries to the couple headed to Florida! And no contamination in the creek! However there dog escaped and hasn’t been found. A 40 ft RV bus pulling a Jeep had a front tire blow out causing it to leave the roadway down an embankment.
Folks on PC know exactly what caused this wreck to happen.
Yep…it was the tire, sure.

Surprised a SOB survived that intact considering the downward distance it fell from the road.

Here’s a photo of the right front tire on a Monaco that belongs to a friend of mine that blew out on an interstate highway at cruising speed. His wife was driving at the time of the incident. The coach remained stable due to the tire staying on the wheel and was driven to a normal stop off the road. His steering axle wheels were, and still are, equipped with Tyron Multibands which prevented the tire from coming off the rim which is the cause of loss of control in blowout incidents.
I would rather drive without seatbelts than without Tyron multiband equipped steering axle wheels.
Again, my two cents worth.

Maybe I’m slow but both front tires look ok. Yes, one is deflated but still on the rim. Looks like he just ran off the road?

The pictures do not match up. Check the RF pictures closely???

The bottom picture of the front passenger side appears to show the tire on the rim, but not seated on the bead. I am not sure but it also looks like there is a tear at the top of the tire which would indicate it lost air rapidly.
By bottom picture I mean from the first post, not the one John posted which is a different coach.
I increased the size of the photo as much as I could and if that in fact is a tear or sideways cut that could explain the rapid failure. Does anyone else see it?

The top of the tire does indeed appear to have a severe cut.
