Have any of your guys ever experienced a tire failure with the 365? Coming from the Wandlerlodge world, where the largest factory spec-ed tire is the 315, I have limited experience with the 365’s. I’m now blessed with a set on both my steer and tag axles. I marvel at the sheer size of these tires and the stoutness of the side walls. We’ve had quit a few failures (blowouts) of the 315’s on Wanderlodges. For you folks who’ve been running the 365’s for some time, have you ever experienced a failure?

I had a 365 that was just over 5 years old and it started to go thump-thump so I stopped and the left front had 2 blisters on the inside one was the size of my hand the other was about half of that size. This set of tires were the original set and this coach was in Liberty’s inventory for over a year so it could have been under inflated sometime in its life.

A PC member had a 365 fail in the Nashville area. Maybe he will post with the details.

I don’t think the increase in pressure above the cold max setting is a problem. the tire manufacturers must know that tires are going to increase in pressure with heat, I think there is even a gas law concerning this. So they set the max pressure below the burst pressure.

I have been driving with the Pressure Pro complete system still in the box located in my rear closet for about 4 years. I have heard so much pro & con about their value I need a push in the correct direction on them. I agree with John the interior drive wheels with the valve extensions invite failure. If I remove the extensions and install the Presure Pro systems what device do i use to add air to these tires as needed on a regular basis? Are the Pressure Pro systems truly reliable?
Please replty using pictures as I sometimes have dificulty with the english language as presented by people living in Tennessee.

Harry, Tom can give you specifics but he has a home made tool that hw uses to reach through to the inner valve stem.
The only thing you have to do is to have your outer dual valve stems reoriented so you can put on the sensor and fill the tire with air. It cannot point inward. I am presuming you have all 315 tires.

Hi Harry,
Don’t use an extension, you’re on the right track. Go to the Depot and buy a piece of 3/4 pvc pipe and a connector. There’s your tool, slips right on the sensor. Or, you can get one from Pressure Pro for 80.

-
Harry, What Tom said . No extension and Pressure Pro has been great.
-
I removed my extensions as one was missing the rubber collar.
Do you guys just screw em on when you want to air up then pull em right back off?
Is there a better method?
-
Untill I got my pressure pro from Tom and got rid of the inside drive valve extensions, I went thru 2 sets of tires in a very short time because the tires with the extensions would never stay aired up and checking the pressure didn’t work very well because when I would try to check the pressure the little plunger would bend and then I would have to put on a new one.
You have to make sure that when you mount your tires, all the valve stems have to line up directly in the center of one of the holes in the wheels. This is especially true with the inside drive tire.
You will also need tyo make the tool Tom has pictured to get the inner sensor off and on.
You will also need a straight air chuck to check the pressure on this tire because the normal one with the straight and angled head on them will not work.
Please get the Pressure Pro installed. It is well worth the money. A tire blowout can kill you or tear half the side of your coach off or kill someone else.

The best thing I have done since removing the valve stem extentions is to use only through the cap tire fill valves.
I used to have to use hex caps and reach in and remove them before checking tire pressure or adding pressure. Now I just use a straight chuck with the valve and gauge attached, push it on to the valve stem cap, and simultaneously check pressure and adjust if required.
The red hosed assembly is of the type I described and thanks to Roger I have a high quality upgrade with a digital display but that shows what I use. I just reach in through the hole in the outer wheel and with very little practice can push the straight chuck onto the inner wheel valve stem almost as easily as filling the other wheels.
But the caps (link below) not only save me the time removing valve stem caps, but since they function as a double seal I rarely have to add pressure to my tires except when temps drop due to seasonal changes.

Hey Jon, Aren’t those just very short extentions? 🙂 Sorry I could not resist.
-
I’m going to have to put you on the watch list Tom. I can see you are going to be a problem.
-
Tom, those High Tech tools Jon has are only available to Liberty owners, if you want some you will have to get them on the black market !!!!!!!!!!
-
Jon, just how long is this watch list and who else is on it ?
