Belt tension adjuster-part number
trying to find a part number for the serpentine belt tensioner. Gave the ro# to Detroit shop and they said, can’t help you. I am sure there is a NAPA or other part number for these rather than having to go through Prevost. Maybe Jeff or one of you experienced guys can help. Any help appreciated.

I got mine at a Detroit shop, only thing I had to give them, was the motor serial # which is located on the back of the bus, along with the date of the chassis, or at least mine is.
I’m not around my bus, or I would give you the part number.

This may be a prevost only part as the belt/pulley/fan configuration on most trucks may be different. Also, I believe the early type had a screw tightening the pulley while the later type is spring-loaded automatic.

Are you talking about the big belt tensioner that you use 3/4 breaker bar to relieve the pressure in order to remove the belt?

Yes the large serpentine belt that has the tension adjuster located on the front of the engine.

Here is the Dayco replacement used on 05 Marathon XLII. # 894
I would have to research this out again for using this part number. I think it was the belt pulley width and
manufacture stamping on the old through Dayco tech service.
