Belt Bleeder Valve
After rewire job on generator I never looked at the belt for water pump and alternator, So I slide gen as far out as I could get it and had to remove 6 bolts and had to drain about 1/2 gallon of antifreeze out so it did not leak out, 1 of the bolts went into thermostat housing when I loosened it up it dripped. Removed cover installed new Dayco 17430 belt and saved old belt for spare it was in good shape. Mean while the bleeder valve spun on shaft so I replaced it with new style one. Opened bleeder valve filled it as far as I could, Put cap on closed bleeder and started engine, as it warmed up I opened bleeder and air escaped in to bottle and closed valve let it run for awhile went up to 16o degrees and stayed there seems fine. What is the procedure with the bleed valve to bleed out air trapped in there.

My radiator is remote from the genset so the way it sits and available space make it just about impossible to vacuum the cooling system and draw in coolant. When I change coolant I do as well as I can, overfill the overflow tank by putting coolant to the hot level, run the generator until it warms up and shut it off. When it cools it generally draws the level down.
It is a real dumb way to insure the system is full, but over a couple of more days I repeat the process until it stops drawing down the overflow tank.
