  • Bay4 DS Won’t Open

Posted by Jimmy on September 30, 2014 at 9:51 am

On a 2006 H3-45, I have a horizontal opening door that won’t open on the driver’s side 4th bay. The door is unlocked and the handle goes up easily but I don’t feel any connection in the latch as I do on the other doors. I can lock the door and the handle does not move.

I called Marathon and they suggested I open the handle and then put pressure or pound the side of the door where the latch is. I’ve been using my whole body against the door and slapping the latch area hard for a few weeks to no avail. And I can’t get through from the curbside since the TV cabinet blocks the passage.

Any ideas on how to open an unlocked bay door? Thank you.

Are you in “Travel Mode” or leveled. Travel mode might reduce the stress on the door and allow it to open.

there has been several coaches that we have had to have a new handle in stock then drill out the old handle to get the door open.
