Joel, I don’t have a diagram but I do know from talking to Bill Daugherty that to function properly the locks need good voltage. I cannot speak to your 99, but on my 97 I had two (I think it was two) octagon base relays that handled the bay locks and over time the contacts in the relays got burned or pitted and were not delivering the full voltage. Replacing the relay solved the problem of lazy bay door locks.

If I recall I had my wife cycle the bay door lock switch and I watched inside the electric bay to see or hear or feel which relay was for the locks. On the relays in question it was readily apparent because with their clear plastic case I could see the spark as they swtiched the load.

I had some that did somewhat the same thing and all they needed was to be lubricated. Mine would usually unlock, but not lock. While at Prevost TN for some work, I asked about it as I was still under warranty at the time and figured that they could deal with it.

The tech working on the bus said it was common and usually the fix was to lube the shaft and behind the access panel with a light lube. I *think* it was lithium based and I know it was a spray type. I don’t know if yours are the same as mine due to the difference in model year. Mine have been fine since FWIW.

I’ve been through the lube program and it helps. I think the factory wiring/relays are ok, but when I go in my electrical (computer) bay, there’s a vertical row of 24 volt std relays on the left side near the panel of a zillion fuses. Only one of those relays is clicking. My WAG is that a binding lock has caused an excessive current load and blown a fuse between the computer output and the Liberty relays….if there is one.
