Basler 63-4 automatic voltage regulator
Has anyone had success with a replacement AVR? There are units priced from 17.00 to around 100.00 listed as replacement for Basler 63-4. I bought a genuine Basler from ASAP for 219.00. Powertech website list at 374.00. Their factory authorized repair in NC sells for 289.00 and also said he typically replaces with another unit that he has gotten better service from.
It is difficult to pay such high prices for a small electronic component that probably cost less than 5 dollars to make in parts. They are used in numerous generators. There are various other units but don’t the same footprint to fit in the control box with modifications for mounting.
Example the control board for my air conditioner evaporator was listed at 479.00 dollars and was 2 inches by 4 inches. I asked if there was gold in it I could sell the old one for. there was maybe 10 electronic pieces on it.
