We will be in Scottsdale during auction week./ Our National Car club is holding a regional meet at the Miillennium Resorts and Villa. We wiill be staying at Green Acres RV Park in the bus. We plan on hitting Barrett Jackson for at least a day. B-J is going to have quite an event. Ron Pratt, noted local car collector from Chandler AZ, is selling all one hundred vehicles in his collection. In an interview locally, “he stated that he has owned every vehicle he ever wanted, now it time to do something else.” We have seen some of his purchases over the years while attending while being a bidder in the past ourselves. One vehicle he purchased8 or 9 years ago was a GM Futureliner showcase bus. This sale and the rest of the Barrett Jackson consignments are going to make this auction the biggest yet, with estimates of $110 million is sales, instead of just the projected $60 million without the Pratt collection. Wow!

Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, you are missing something (provided that kind of thing interests you).
We went to one of their auctions about 6 years ago, after we had purchased our first bus in Mesa, AZ.
Did not know anything about the auction but having had time on our hands and nothing better to do, we decided to go there.
It is quite an experience.
First of all, there are probably hundreds of cars, outside and inside many tents and on display inside the auction hall.
THEN … there are the people!
The people watching is almost better than the auctions!!! To say the least!!
Many sugar daddies with their trophy girls. All dressed-up to kill (more or less!).
It was also amazing to watch some of the auction activities and to hear how much money changed hands in a very short time.
I would not mind going again. It is fun.

I go every year. Would not miss it. If you like cars and watching people scottsdale is the place to be in January.

if you are into cars it is truly an adult’sDisney world!
Wish I was going this year but headed to NCRS Florida Regional car show in Lakeland….
