Bad House Battery Question
Hi All,
My name is Tim. Long time member having been introduced by Rudy. I am not a Prevost owner. I have a 2008 Country Coach Affinity and have a battery question.
I have had one of my six 8D AGM house batteries go bad. It is overheating and has swelled from the top. Until I can replace that battery or all of them (I believe they were depleted while in for engine repair) can I bypass that one bad battery and continue with the remaining 5?

It depends on how they are wired. If you have a 12V coach, you can just bypass the bad battery since they’d all be in parallel. It will leave your with 5/6th of your capacity.
On a 24V coach, you’ll likely have three parallel strings of 2 batteries in series. You’ll have to disconnect both batteries in the string with the bad battery. This will leave you with only 2/3rds of your capacity.

Thank you. It is a 12v coach and they are wired in parallel. I bypassed the bad battery and all is good. This should allow me to get to my final destination and then I will begin the process of replacing all of them.
