Awning anemometer
Pulled into campground yesterday and had to go under some low trees. Nothing bad, or at least I thought. Setting up I found neither Girard power awning worked. Checked breaker and seems like power is ok. Outlets on same circuit work.
I got the ladder out and noticed the front anemometer was tilted back. It looks like a tree branch pulled the top of the front anemometer partially off. I climbed on roof today and the top portion of anemometer was pulled away from base. Nothing appeared broken and wires were still attached.
The coach has two Girard power awnings on passenger side. There are two anemometers on the roof. Neither awning is working.
Is there a chance the front anemometer is broken and the two are wired in a series causing both awnings to not work? Is there a good place to check power to the awnings and make sure they are getting power?

Terry I have had to replace 3 of them, same situation as you low limbs, Since I live on the Blue Ridge Pky tthey do not trim anything and will arrest you if they catch you doing it, There is only about 2-300′ that I have a problem with, so I took matters into my on hands, The night crew has done a good job cutting those low overhanging limbs! The unusual thing is that your awnings will not go out. The anemometers (wind sensors) simply generate a pulse indicative of windspeed, similar to what was used on older coaches for vehicle speed, or to the ABS system now. A broken anemometer should cause you a different situation – the awnings would not go in due to high wind and possibly get damaged at the arm knuckles. I would look for a breaker turned off, or bay gfi recepticle in the 2nd bay back to be tripped. Let me know what you find.
