  • Aux Compressor

Just today my aux compressor has started to make a sound “Psssst”(have fun with that) every few seconds and will not quit. Sounds as if it is emitting moisture more that releasing air pressure. Any suggestions?

Check the pressure switch in the steering bay, it may be a black box in color , it may be bad

It’s probably the Pressure switch in the steering compartment Chuck that is nothing more than a well control pressure switch. You can verify it’s the switch by taking the cover off and when the air pressure gets to the cut-off point, could be anywhere from 90 – 120 lbs depending on the setting and you’ll see the points do not disconnect as they should. Be careful, it’s 120 volt. I’ve had to replace them on several of my buses including this one.

You may also have a leak in your air system. As you know when the temperature cools the plastic tube shrink which will interduce a small leak. but from what you wrote you may have a large leak or like Peter said a bad pressure switch. Good luck and Happy New Year.
