  • Aux Compressor Pressure Switch

Posted by Richard on August 23, 2016 at 11:04 am

I have an ’06 Millennium. The aux compressor output goes to a tee. One side of the tee goes to a check valve and the other side of the tee goes to a pumptrol pressure switch. Another air connection on the pumptrol goes to the the other side of the check valve. The far side of the check valve goes to everything that requires aux air. The check valve or’s in the aux compressor and the engine compressor and doesn’t allow the engine compressor to back drive the aux compressor.

Question is how do I know for sure which air inputs to the pumptrol are which? What input goes to the output of the compressor and which one goes to the far side of the check valve?

Figured it put. The outer port is the unloader port and unloads the output pressure from the aux supply when it’s off. The main or center port senses pressure on the common or far side of the check valve.

Actually the check valve may be to prevent aux air from flowing back througth the compressor and leaking to atmosphere. I believe every converter has their own way to deal with that so the aux pump is not working overtime to deal with the leak.
