Auto Generator start on Royale
My 1999 Royale has a button on the dash that enables an auto gen start module that starts and runs the generator if the batteries drop to a certain level. DO not know what that level is.
I am tryng to install a Maganum ME-AGS-S module that is adjustable for battery voltage level and interior temperature. So far I can get the preheat and start parts to work, but cannot get it to shutoff correctly.
So I have 2 questions:
1. Has anyone installed one of these Maganum ME-AGS-S controllers and gotten it to work?
2. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the generator controller that comes on a Royale? I believe it is called a “Gen-Con”.

Andre my Royale would not shut off with auto start either put new ecu on and new voltage reg , mine bypassed that gen con and was hook to inverters but still would not shut off , it had power tech brain with ecu replaced all wires with spade connections still no luck changed wires on inverters still no luck , it would auto start at right voltage but not shut off, I talked to Ben C and everybody else I could think of power tech , trace , magnum, When I sold it I told Dave it would start but not shut off on auto start , that’s the only thing that it wood not do, would like to help sorry I tried but no work, hope you get it , mine only used the start button to start and stop not the preheat or gen stop it did the preheat on its own with the help of the brain!!!!!! For side note Ben C was the best help…

Thanks for the info. At least now I know it’s not just me. I am fairly cetian I know where the problem is, I just need to figuire out a way around it. My generator is older then yours, it does not use an ECU, it is all relays that control it. I did at one time have it set up to my inverter and was able to start and stop it with the inverter using an extra relay to stop it. But the inverter set up diid not have a inside tempature setting to start the generator. So I am trying to add the Maganum AGS so I can start the generator if the inside of the bus gets to hot. Have to keep the wife’s bird happy. Happy bird, happy wife…..

Looks like I got it working. Had to wire in 1 external relay that would ground out the Balck “stop” wire when the shutdown signal was sent to the generator. Running multiple test now. So far so good. Just got the generator to start with the temperature setting.
Will post wiring diagram and details when I am sure everything works like it is suppsoe to.

That’s great Andre I did not have magnum control just power tech ECU and it would not work with my inverters my next try was going to be the magnum auto start with temp start , glad you got it working wish I still had royale to try it…
