I don’t know about all conversions but all of my Liberty coaches have used a regulator on the supply side for the generator air bags and as long as there was aux air their pressure was maintained.

For long term storage such as a month or more between trips I don’t bother to maintain air in the bus but as long as we are using the bus and have aux pressure the generator air bags are inflated. 14 PSI (sure to start a discussion)

You could snake a line across from the starboard side where you could tap into the aux line. I would leave it manual and not worry about more potential air leaks. With new bags, probably won’t require much attention. Since the fill valves are tied together and right out in front, why not just keep it as is?

I think that’s the best Tom I will leave it manual and with new air bags it should hold air with not much care . I think as long as they hold good with new bags .I will leave it manual fill thanks again Tom

Locating one of the feed lines off the Aux air tank under the drivers seat. Run this pressure line to generator bay where you can mount a SMC air regulator, pictured below.

I can furnish you the correct part number and source (Eagle Air in KC ) for the regulator you need. What is important is having it be the type that holds pressure, is adjustable I.e., 25 psi and releases any increase due to heat expansion? If this is not managed by adjustment the air pressure will continue to climb until blowout.

The other picture is the air manifold service to mini air bags. The line at the top (large) is supply from adjustable SMC regulator which Marathon mounts on the ceiling, including a pressure gauge monitor air bags.

As to cost with DOT air line (must use) regulator, gauge, fittings about $50-75.

There should be no difference in flow rates because to the best of my knowledge all of us with the auto-fill are filling from the same faucet, through the same hose through the same water fill valve, etc. The water flow is not affected if we open the valve manually (pushing a button) or allowing the system to open the same valve.

Tim,mine fills through a solenoid valve,and it takes forever,I think a manuel ball valve would be better

Dumb answer, depends on the water flow you are getting it from….otherwise tank fill and auto would be the same. Only other way is to gravity feed it on your coach I believe

It takes me about 15 minutes at most on auto fill running through an On-the-Go water softener and the sediment filter on the coach. I could fill it faster using the gravity fill but no filtration that way.

Jeff ,I have plenty of water pressure,the only way water from any source, goes through the solenoid valve to fill the tank

perhaps the solenoid valve is resrticted.Probbally should try with no filters

Hmm,

Even though I do use a secondary pressure relief valve, it takes me more than 3 hours, sometimes four hours. Rate out of my “On The Go” Water softner looks great. I change my Whole House Filter every six months. Maybe I need to change it every three months or, the solenoid is not opening all the way.

Hi Tim,

I have to say I’ve only filled with our auto-fill once to see if it worked (it did). But I didn’t time it. I’m leary of leaving water ‘on’ and being away from the coach.

I guess the purpose of auto-fill (to me) is if you are stationary for a while and just leave the water hose connected and activated. As the level falls to about 1/4, it will fill up to about 3/4 and turn off.

Something is wrong Tim, my autofill will go from 20% to full in about 10 minutes with City water pressure of 45 lbs. The problem could be the solenoid valve located on the curb side water bay behind the panel.

I agree with Tom…of course. Mine might take 15 minutes when tank is at 20%. I try not to let it get past that point as I have had the pump cavitate.
