Austin, TX, Places to Stay?
Any recommendations on a place to stay in Austin, TX? Going to be there Sunday and Monday.

La Hacienda is the best big rig accommodation near Austin. It is northwest of downtown by Lake Travis. I’m sure it’s in the Big Rig book if you have one. Only downside is a 30 to 40 minute trip to the Capital, Sixth Street and South Congress area if you are going to be spending time there. It’s a great city. Have fun and enjoy your stay.

Another option, not a good option, but an option none the less is “Lone Star RV – Austin”. It’s on I-35 just south of town. Tight fight but would work in a pinch. Closer to town. A no frills park but you can grab a cab to downtown.

We stayed at Lone Star 2 years ago and had a back in site in the very back on the left hand side and to our surprise it was very nice and spacious… better than the little ones down the center… very convenient to everywhere..

If your Austin visit allows time, Becky just reminded me that Roundtop, one the largest antique fairs on the planet, is in full swing. It’s in Roundtop Tx due east of Austin and engulfs the surrounding towns. It’s quite an event if you have the time and inclination. Warrington and Marbuger are a couple of the big venues.

Anothe option would be west towards the hill county. Marbl Fall, Sunset Point RV, is a great park and central to a lot of things… Wildflowers are just starting to pop..

Ditto on Sunset Point. We have stayed there several times. Sits on a solid granite point with nice, level and spacious spots. Very clean and friendly staff. Short drive into Austin with many interesting venues within the surrounding Hill Country.
