I have upgraded my audio video switching.

I had a 2×4 amp switch that was connected to my sat, which had only one output so it could feed two 4×2 switchers.

I also had another 2×4 amp switch that was connected to my dvd/vcr which only had one output so it could also feed two 4×2 switchers.

The 4×2 switches had four inputs which fed two outputs. The problem was that both outputs had to watch the same input. This was true for both switches.

I replaced all four units with a new 4×4 matrix switch. Now I can watch any input on any output and any combination thereof.

The mfg is shinybow and the model is sb-5544.

So far it is working well.

I did have to reprogram the urc remotes but it was not that difficult including creating new macros.

I don’t see much av stuff here so I thought I would share my experience.
