Atwood Water Heater’s
In my Marathon, like many others, I have two 10.5 gal Atwood WH’s. This morning I noticed we ran out of hot water at around 10-minutes of showering.
I let the WH re-heat thru the 110V until the 110v shut-off. I then checked, thru the two pressure relief valves outside in the waterbaby, the hot water temp’s. The top WH was very hot. The bottom WH was cold.
I can’t remember if this is how they are supposed to work, wherein the top WH remains hot and the bottom WH only ignites after the top WH runs short of hot water, or whether they should both be hot at all times.
I will say that I turned on the 12v webasto for around 20 minutes, and the bottom WH did get warm, but not nearly as hot as the top WH. I would think it should work the same as the 110V element.

Would there be a separate fuse that could have tripped and is there a 110V element for each WH?

It’s a seperate electric element. One of mine went 4 years ago, easy fix on mine. Both are stacked inside plumbing door on mine, on your H, I don’t know but if you can touch it shouldn’t be to bad.

Tim, my coach is a CC but it has the same H2O heaters and a breaker for each.

Wishful thinking, you have a 12v breaker and a 110v breaker.
Unless our’s are so different in build years.

My Marathon manual says I have a breaker for each WH in the waterbay.
I know I have the A/C breaker inside the coach for the WH’s to operate, but any idea where the breakers are in the waterbay where the WH’s are located? Maybe one tripped. Both heating elements are new.

Check the thermostats on the heater itself. I had one that would sometimes pop for no apparant reason. Reset it and all was good again. If your a/c breakers are good, then it must either be that or the element.

Mine are on the bulkhead in 2nd bay, bunch of breakers in there you may not have noticed.

Located my “Waterbay Module” in my second bay, passenger side, on the bulkhead. I took off the lid and found the following fuses/relays. I haven’t seen these type before. The one with the red light is labeled “RGS”, but it doesn’t look like a breaker you can reset.
Is this what you were referring to?

My mistake Tim, I looked this morning since I’m now at the bus. My water heater breaker is in the bedroom and is a single 20 amp breaker. The additional breaker box I was referring to in the bay looks like this:

It doesn’t look like my bottom WH is getting electricity. Is there a re-set button on one of the WH’s that may have popped?

I’ll take a look, but it’s monsoon season here today in Vonore.
The good news is none of my slide seals are leaking.

Infound the reset button, but it wasn’t tripped. Looks like I’m not getting power to the bottom unit so it may be a bad thermostat.

Did you find the reset button mounted on the top water heater? It is behind a chrome panel. After it happened the second time, I left the cover off so I can just reach in to push the red button.
