Did you have the 110v heat button on at the panel, assuuming no breaker is kicked. As for the Webasto, I don’t follow you when you say you had hot water at the boiler. With the Webasto running, thermostats set for heat and the main circulation pump running, there should be hot water through the loop. Even if the thermostats weren’t calling for heat, the main circulation pump would be moving hot water through the entire heat loop.

i did push the 110v button and all that was situated in the manual. Nothing.

what I was trying to say is that water was hot coming out of the boiler and into the hose , guess in need to check the pump. Will do that next. Thanks

how do you turn on the toekick heaters? How do you turn on the “boiler” ? Is boiler your word for Webasto?

I have never had a Webasto and don’t know anything about them. I wonder if your problem might be similar to a common problem on Aquahots though. The burner can be heating but no hot water is circulating. On an Aquahot it is commonly caused by a sticking check valve. The temporary solution to that is to hit it with a hammer to unstick it. A better long term solution is to use it so it doesn’t stick.

both the toe heaters and Webasto turn on in the 12v distribution panel. And take then Webasto IS what I was calling the boiler.

Have a toggle for the diesel part of the Aqua Hot in panel but You have to turn on the Aqua Hot in the 12 volt panel to get the 3 electric station heaters, thermostat controlled, to come on in my coach. Don’t know how or if it relates to a wabasto.

My Marathon is 6 years newer than yours and may not function the same. Do you have SMX controls for your HVAC? With the12v heat switch on at the panel, do the heat exchangers come on and blow air in the coach when you run up the thermostats?

I have two kick heaters, one in the galley and one in the bathroom. The bathroom heater has a button in the bath labled heater and with that button on, the kick heater itself has a thermostat that needs rotated for heat based on temperature.

My galley kick heater has shared control through the SMX panel. With the 110v heat button on at the panel, I double press the heat button and then the SMX controls the galley kick heater. The galley SMX will turn on the heat exchanger and kick heater at the same time if both the 12v and 110v buttons are on at the panel.

I do have the SMX controls.The heat exxchangers DO come on and blow air (cold).I have 2 as well in the same locations. I ahve never noticed a button in the bathroom labled heater (but I will look). there is no mention of the SMX controls running the Galley heater. I have followed the instrutions in the manual. BTW I have had the toe heaters work several times. . Don’t know what is happening. .

Tony, we have a 99 Marathon with 3 toe heaters and also the Webasto and 3 cruise air’s. Being brand new to the bus world, here is what I’ve found out about ours. Do you have the SMX control pad and an old gold honeywell thermostat as well. My SMX control pad only works the Cruise air’s and the gold honewell thermostat works the toe heaters and the webasto, either one or both at the same time. When I turn on the 12 volt heat switch in the bedroom, my webasto starts up and will put out warm through out the coach. We just had the webasto serviced and I noticed 2 water controls valves just above the webasto unit, you might check that they are opend so they can circulate the water through out the coach. I’m by no means know how the system works yet, but on my coach schematic it does show these valves. Just something to check.

sorry I hav been so long to get back to you. Sound like our coaches are set up the same as far as the thermostats go. I have made sure that the valves are open back there at the boiler unit. Maybe I have a pump problem.?

The Webesto burner has a Control Unit mounted on the side of the burner. This brain box runs the burner.

It has three plugs in the bottom of it. The largest plug, the “C” plug is the harness to the burner. The middle plug, the “B” plug is th harness to the burner. And the smallest plug, the “A” plug, is the harness to the circulating pump.

If the burner fires and the coolant does not circulate, the control thermostat will open or perhaps the high limit thermostat will open. Once open, most high limit thermostats need to be manually reset. There is a button between the two wire connectors to push.

So one would check the A plug for power to the pump. If okay, then is the pump moving coolant through the hose? And, is any isolating valves turned off?

Tom and I have similar set-ups for heating with the SMX panels controlling both the 110V heat and 12V (Webasto) heat. I agree with what he has related so far. When you double press the heat button the light above it will flash slowly while it is in the aux heat mode. The 110V or 12V switch then dtermines the heat source. My Webasto will work anytime I call for it but for the toe kick heaters to operate, the coach must be on generator or shore power. Most times my Webasto has failed to fire, I have gotten it to operate by opening the burner and cleaning the soot off the exposed elements and the photocell window.
