Asko Clothes Dryer strikes again
Out of 4 Buses I have owned 2 of the Asko dryers have had the dryer drum wheels go bad. The rubber seems to come apart. Before you point out this has nothing to do with the Bus——-I know that.
the repair is simple once you have access to the 2 wheels that supports the drum and they are inexpensive but to do the job right the top and front panel has to come off the unit requiring it to be removed from it’s enclosure.
Changed the last set of wheels by not removing the dryer and using a “special Bent wrench” thanks to Kevin Erion. But that was tough and not recommended.
I was wondering if sitting unused for long periods of time causes a flat spot on the rubber wheel thus causing it to slowly come apart as it spins.
It always happens while away from home base and at the lest convenient time. Dryer is basically unusable.
after replacement of the new wheels I’m going to remember to give the dryer drum a spin once in a while when not in use.

Thanks for posting. These little items like spinning the dryer once in awhile to prevent a flat spot (at exactly the time you don’t need it) is definitely helpful.

Chuck, I don’t know if turning the dryer drum will help prevent a flat spot but it can’t hurt.
I am only guessing that in time a flat spot develops. I am positive that when the wheel comes apart it will piss off the person in charge of laundry and likely the person responsible for it’s replacement as well. -

If the person in charge of laundry gets pissed off usually the meals following suffer too.

I have a “Thump” when the dryer is running. Just have not got around to sourcing parts. are there just basically one size?
