ARE DISC BRAKES AVAILABLE ON 2014-2015 H3-45
Hello,
Can anyone tell me if Disc Brakes are available on a 2014 and later H3-45 shells,I looked on Prevost website and
downloaded the specs and dont see it as an option but though I heard it was available.Thanks for your help!!!

I would think Disc brakes are standard. Every H3 I’ve been around has them, even my 2001.

Our 1999 h shell, called a 2000 Marathon had discs all around.

Anyone know specifically when disk brakes became the standard fitment to Prevost buses? Were there years that it was optional? I am looking at acquiring a Detriot Diesel 60 generation of the XL45, and the prior postings have generated the need to know!

I had disk brakes on my 97 XL on the tag and steer only, drum on the drive. The shell was a 96.

My 1991 H340 has ABS disk brakes on the steer and tag axles and drum brakes on the drives.

My 1998 H3-45 has all disc brakes.

Since the question seems to have been answered, I’ll intrude to give a shout out to my bling impaired brotha Ron Walker. I love what I see in the thumbnail of your post. Compaired to mine, yours has bling… You have color! Heck, mine ain’t even a Prevost. Hope to see you on the road.

The converter of the X-3 that Wade has is who I am talking to about converting my new H-3,Florida Custom Coach!! I have seen thousands of interiors over the last 28 years because I made it a point to look at them for ideals and to me this interior is out of this world for my business.They have came a long way from when everything was brown inside there coaches!!!! There look with my upgrades and I think I will have what I consider the perfect coach!! Merry Christmas!!!

Howdy, Bryan. For us homebuilders, bling comes in bits and pieces after the systems like electrical and plumbing are at least started. Putting in all those wires and pipes takes time, but when they break, we have a head start on troubleshooting because we designed the installation. Mine is actually wearing six colors of paint now with lots of fancy swirls and five coats of clear to add some of that bling. I’ll post a photo in the homebuilders section soon and update my avatar.
Beauty is all in the eye of the beholder. I was invited to an Eagle bus rally where they told me I could polish forever on my Prevost, but it would never be an Eagle. MCI’s make a beautiful conversion as well. My interior has a long way to go; there’s still a lot of insulation showing. I dream of one day having the superb interior some of the Eagle guys have installed. They’re better than many of the professional conversions! If I don’t show some serious progress soon, I may follow Robert to Florida Custom Coach. I’m currently in the process of replacing my Jacuzzi with a fancy Corian shower.
I look forward to catching up with you somewhere down the road. Meanwhile, give us all an update on your progress now and then in the homebuilders section. Thanks for the shout!
It’s my guess that the all disc brake H model coaches began in 1998 or a little earlier because mine had the “Anti-lock brake system” decal on the rear. I think the ABS was associated with disc brakes on the coaches, even though my trailer has ABS air brakes with drums. I’ve got no supporting documentation, so I could easily be wrong.
