Aqua Hot Leaked
A few days before we left Florida our Aqua Hot started leaking anti-freeze, it has now all leaked out. I could not see any problems with the pumps, etc. I’m believe the heat exchanger tank is rusted out. We will see tomorrow at Jeff’s.
I may be in for a new unit. Has anyone replaced their Aqua Hot with an Oasis unit? They are supposed to have one that is a near drop in for the AH. I had an Oasis in a Foretravel, and liked it better.

Roy, had that same problem with AH tank rusted out and leaking. AH wanted $13k for complete replacement not counting labor. After taking it completely apart found several rust holes in tank and copper tubing was in poor condition.
The fix. Bought stainless steel beer keg on ebay ($55), cut old tank and new SS beer keg to measure same as old tank length and tig welded them together then pressurized for leak check. Bought new 110 feet copper tubing ($160) and mastic heat transfer material ($100). New insulation around tank ($50). Been working perfect for 4 years now.
Don`t have all dimension particulars but once you get tank out and cut all pieces are standard stuff you can buy locally.

Maybe our resident AquaHot experts are paying attention? for us poor folk from the other side of the tracks.

We are a large collection of Prevost owners.
Because of the fact we all share a forum and through networking have a good possibility or solving almost any problem Tom and I want PC to be available for that purpose. We cannot solve every problem collectively, but we can solve a lot.
For example, Jeff can replace failing aluminum holding tanks with stainless steel tanks. We have shared information and sources about parts. The point is if the problem with corrosion on AH units has affected sufficient numbers and the AH price is out of line, I think because of my metal fabricating background I can see if a suitable replacement can be made for a more reasonable price.
If a unit can be made from a beer keg it can definitely be done. Share pictures, dimensions details etc. or find me a unit I can study. I doubt if I am the only one on here capable so if anyone else has resources for quotes or fabrications have at it.
If Tradewinds, or ETLC want to pursue this they should go for it and we will help.

A reman of the heater in the Prevost is $8,400 plus labor including shipping to and from the Aqua Hot factory. I can offer a 10% discount off of that with a one year warranty from Aqua Hot on the entire heater and its components.
A new heater is very little gain for the extra cost over a reman.
Any person with the skills that can repair/replace the leaking tank is less to much less money. Jeff is very capable of this fix plus he knows I will answer any question he has about how things should work.
So, as long as the fix is much less than $10,000, that choice is worth considering. but no warranty on heater components, pumps, fittings, control unit, burner, etc.

Steve, I just want to agree with the others, your fix was ingenious. Possibly the only mistake was not buying it full and drinking it down!
