Whooooooooooooooooie! now that is a little coin. How in the world can you stuff that much _____ in a bus and come up with a tag like that? I thought Jeff Gordon’s was bad ($2.8 million) but this is unreal.

That is some serious coin Tom. I have not seen the news, I will google it and see what comes up. Seven million – man-man, that is unheard of. (Incidentally … that is a tad bit more than “Free.”) Price of the coach is coming up conflicting … some say a lot less than $7 million.

The bus was free according to my guy at Marathon what he paid for the conversion I have no Idea Don but not 7mil lol they did the same with Jimmiy Johnson to get him out of his Newell fwiw you had 3 major players in that market Newell being no 1,Featherlite they have cut their ties with Nascar now then you have Marathon

Liberty has to much class to get into that market

Free is just a tad bit hard to believe. A Prevost shell has to be upwards of $400K in today’s market Clifford, and that is a lot of money to be just giving away, especially when you are struggling to hang on as Marathon seems to be doing.

Tony Stewarts bus is a Featherlite I think … but I am not sure. Aren’t they the one’s who tag everything “VIP?”

VIP is Prevost shell model it has nothing to do with Featherlite or Marathon it is motorhome shell Don

Like I said “I was not sure” Clifford, and I now know the difference.

In my case, such as it may be, I will never be elevated to such status I am positive of that. For the time being I will just keep trucking in my old bus, and take pride in my ride, a thirty-year old hoopie.

That is about as “VIP” as I am gonna get.

For what it is worth, you couldn’t give me a Prevo with flames all over it like that one, to me it is outright criminal to take a good looking bus and do that to it (shell or otherwise).

But then again, “different strokes” for different folks, right?

I would have serious doubts if any converter gave a coach to anyone.

While we are beginning to see some improvement across the board in the Prevost conversion market everyone from owners to brokers to converters who have suffered when the economy went bad and even if giving someone a new coach was considered a way to get more sales I don’t know of a single company capable of fronting that amount of money in the hopes their sales will increase.

Okie is almost correct. A typical motorhome or entertainer conversion shell is going to be in the $500,000 plus range and even that is a lot of money.

That coach is an entertainer shell and if outfitted as a coach to entertain sponsors and clients it might not cost as much as the typical motorhome conversion but my guess is it still carries a pricetag in seven figures.

I parked next to the old Cowboys bus at Prevost in Ft. Worth when we were there in 2011. I thought it was pretty nice but it sure was not as nice as this one. That is one nice bus.

Only know what I was told by the guy that did the conversion also found out the conversion prices floating around are not even close

.Prevost converters never pay for shell till the bus is converted and sold converters never own the shells they belong to Prevost

Vovlo with a 28% profit margin on billions 500,000 list price is nothing FWIW you can buy new shell for a lot less than 500,000 I can buy a new seated coach loaded for a little over 400,000 from Prevost list and selling prices are not the same

I saw Prevost pick 2 up when Country Coach went under,my friend at Arrow Stage Lines in Phoenix has 2 H-45’s Prevost gave him for 1 year free trying to stop him from buying the Setra

.I think Setra entering the shell bussines wiil hurt the H-45 market big time and who knows what shell MCI will produce to compete with X Volvo and M/B are not great friends never have been

I quoted a “$400K price” and then Jon said that the Okie was wrong, it was closer to “$500K” and not the figure that I mentioned. Now I am reading it is back down to $400K …. So what is what here?

But there is good news! Thankfully, my NAPA card recently saved me 30-40 percent, which is going to help me out down the road, when I go to get my Dallas One Star bus. Here is my reality … The last thing I got for free, I had to go to the doctor’s office and get shots for it.

We must have been looking at two different price list then. When I priced a shell for a new motorhome conversion with adaptive braking, fire suppression (both of which can be deleted if you sign a waiver) and OTR, 2 slides, the price was just north of $550,000.

The bus shown is an X3 entertainer shell with OTR, and since the entertainer shells can only have one slide I suspect the price will be less, but not $150,000 less.

The shell prices from Prevost do not vary from customer to customer.

Sure they do Jon Prevost has no set price they get down and dirty just like the other guys to make a sell Arrow has some Execitive coaches built on the motor home chassis from Prevost they did not pay 500,000 for the shell I know that to be fact 2010 models built on the VIP H-45
